Cone Beam 3-D imaging system produce's immediate three-dimensional images of patient's critical anatomy, typically in under one minute. CBCT provides complete view's of all oral and maxillofacial structure's, that allows dental specialist's to dramatically enhance their patient care in a variety of way's.
This advanced imaging technology can be used for a variety of specialist's, including orthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeries, implantologist's, TMJ specialist's, and general dentist's.

How does it work
The 3-D Cone Beam imaging system is essentially a digital X-ray scanner that rotates around the patient's head just like digital cameras, cone beam imaging uses digital technology to record the images instead of old-fashioned film. This process is called "cone beam" because the scanner projects x-rays in a carefully controlled, cone shaped beam that captures the complete volume of everything in it's field with minimal x-ray exposure.

How is it different?
Typical dental x-rays focus on a small area to produce flat 2-D pictures. 3-D cone beam images provide more complete accurate and visual images to study your case with greater accuracy and less radiation than ordinary medical CT machines. Cone beam images can be duplicated and are always stored in case they are needed in the future. CBCT's unique technology creates clear, precise images that are easy to read so the doctor's can interpret them with confidence and accuracy. This is possible because the CBCT captures a volume of information as compared to the multiple slices needed for a medical CT scanner. The algorithms in a medical CT scanner compensate for the gap between each slice by creating images that have small distortions. In certain instances, these clinical distortions can be vary significant.
